Rules of Concord 2



·    If a subject is given additional details to form a parenthesis, then the details should not be considered in determining the number of the verb.
  E.g  The science student- not from department of art and commercial- is at Night class again
·    When “ALL” is use to mean collective of things, it attracts plural verb, but when it is used to mean Everything, then it will attract singular verb.

Rules of Concord 1



 

Concord is the agreement between singular verbs or plural verbs and singular nouns or plural nouns.


    Noun makes plural by adding “S”  Examples of Noun are; Table, spoon, phone, chair e.t.c  and make its plural by adding “s” respectively. i.e Tables, Spoons, Phones, chairs
   Verb makes plural by removing “s” and makes singular by adding “S”.
Examples of plural verb are; go, wake, make, fit, create etc.
Examples of singular verbs are; goes, wakes, fits, creates.
